The Department of Marketing is an academic unit integrating research, teaching, and cooperation with the socio-economic environment in response to contemporary market challenges. Its activity focuses on marketing understood broadly, including consumer insight, communication, relationship building, brand management, and data-driven decision-making. The Department brings together scholars representing complementary areas of expertise, which supports an interdisciplinary approach to market phenomena.

The research profile of the Department of Marketing encompasses both classical and emerging areas of marketing studies. Its key scientific interests include marketing and its contemporary forms, marketing communication and its instruments, branding, consumer behaviour, marketing research, customer satisfaction and loyalty, relationship marketing, and the role of values in marketing and communication. The Department also develops research at the intersection of marketing, artificial intelligence, digital technologies, sustainability, neuroscience, and data analytics, as reflected in publications devoted to, among others, e-commerce, social media, CRM, AI-supported decision-making, ecological consumption, communication in healthcare, and sustainable development. This broad research agenda enables the Department to analyse market processes from strategic, behavioural, technological, and social perspectives.

The teaching profile of the Department reflects the breadth of its research interests and is oriented toward both academic foundations and practical market competencies. Courses offered by the Department cover, among others, fundamentals of marketing, services marketing, consumer behaviour, sales techniques, brand management, customer relationship management, marketing communication, digital marketing, social media marketing, public relations, advertising, event marketing, marketing strategy, loyalty programmes or specialist marketing. The Department also develops students’ practical skills in creativity, interpersonal communication, personal branding, and market analysis. Its educational activity is additionally supported by student engagement initiatives, including the scientific club Pollub.My Marketing, which helps students gain hands-on experience through events, expert meetings, science festivals, and cooperation with external partners.
